Key points

The game's internal resolution may be too blurry by default.[1] See AkibaInterceptor.
Mouse support is very poor, playing with a controller is highly recommended.

Issues unresolved

Poor mouse support

The mouse mostly mimics a right stick, and the cursor isn't restricted to the window nor hidden. When the cursor reaches the edge of the screen, it stops the right stick movement, making camera control nearly impossible.[4]

High frame rate issues

The game is playable at 60 FPS, but some actions are affected, e.g. menu navigation becomes faster, button smash QTEs require faster button pressing and inputs are registered per frame, so shorter button presses are registered as button holding.[5] At very high frame rates, some actions are completely impossible.[3]

Issues fixed

Resolution looks blurry or upscaled

The game uses a lower rendering resolution than the selected one,[1] and outlines of the objects are mostly unaffected by the game's native anti-aliasing.[6]
Downsample from high resolutions[citation needed]

Monitor falls asleep when playing with controller

Prevent system sleep[citation needed]

Mouse cursor always visible when playing

Hide cursor[citation needed]

Notes

  1. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/333980/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (333980) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
