Single player configuration files are encrypted.
To edit one of the files[citation needed]
  1. Download the Bulletstorm INI editor and extract it
  2. Open the editor and go to the configuration file(s) location.
  3. Open the file you need to edit and make your changes.
  4. Save it

Remove Texture Streaming

High frame rate

High frame rate[citation needed]
  1. Unlocked frame rates may cause stuttering. Use smoothed frame rate, but raise values. Open <path-to-game>\Singleplayer\AFEARGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini with Bulletstorm INI Editor.
  2. Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to a higher cap (to a value below unlocked FPS that is having performance issues).
  3. Save the changes and close the editor.
