The game engine may allow for manual configuration of the game via its variables. See the Unreal Engine 4 page for more details.

Field of view (FOV)

Increase FOV by setting its value to vertical in a config file[3]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add the following lines:
[/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
An existing saved game is required. Reaching the first checkpoint and loading is sufficient.

Sharpening

Increase/Decrease Sharpening[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add the following and save the file.
[SystemSettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1

Notes

This will sharpen the image to offset the blur caused by TAA. A value between 0.5-1.0 is recommended. It has no performance impact.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Disable TAA through a config file edit
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add [SystemSettings] and r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0 to the bottom of the file.
  4. Save Engine.ini.
Set the Engine.ini file to read only.

Notes

  1. Unreal Engine 4 engine build: 4.19.2[1]
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/649950/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (649950) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
