Key points
Availability
Source | DRM | Notes | Keys | OS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Retail | If fully installed, the game does not require the CD to play. |
- A demo is available from ScummVM.
- This game is not available digitally. Evergreen has gone on record saying it likely will never have one, due to rights issues regarding retired pro players.[citation needed]
Essential improvements
Unofficial Patch
- Fixes the Pink Maria Luna boost bug so that it works on all defensive positions and fixes the screen resolution bug caused by modern Windows NT systems, respectively.
- This is not the official update patch, that one which is obtainable via online play is long-lost.
Extract to <path-to-game>
, replacing the original .exe
and .(b)
files.
Backyard Sports Online
- Requires ScummVM 2.8.0 or later for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and Raspberry Pi.
- One of the features may be unavailable (e.g. coach's statistics, news, and polls) in the new servers.
Disable Online Functionality
- This will disable most discontinued online functionalities for the original interpreter, in that case if not using ScummVM.
- Removes the DirectPlay legacy component requirement if running on Windows 10 or later.
