Beat Saber is a action music/rhythm game for VR made by Beat Games. It continues to be one of the most popular VR only titles, still garnering thousands of players on daily basis.
Game first released for early access in May 1st, 2018[4] with full release following year later in May 21st, 2019 on Steam, Oculus and PSVR. Games developer was bought by Facebook and continue to work on the game under Oculus studios brand, but has promised that all the currently supported platforms will get updates simultaneously and that the developer remains independent.[5] The v1.29.4 update, which updated the Unity engine build to 2021.3.16f1, replaced OpenVR with OpenXR for the Steam version of the game.[3]
Even after release, the game has been updated consistently with new free and paid content, and new features. In addition, there is a large modding community and dedicated websites for downloading custom beatmaps.
