Essential Improvements
Prevent stretching in DOSBox
Change DOSBox Settings[3]
|
Since the game runs on a resolution of 320×200, it is slightly stretched if played with DOSBox. To prevent this, change the DOSBox settings.
- Open
dosboxBAK.conf in the game directory with an editor
- Find the line that reads “aspect=false” and change it to “aspect=true”

Improved music
Follow this guide to get MIDI soundtrack with (limited) voice acting, which is more dynamic and doesn't randomly stop like the CD music.

Red Book CD audio |
|
The CD tracks are very short and do not loop, so longer combat sequences end up being completely silent. Also, the tracks do not dynamically fade out, so you get sudden scene transitions. Can be deactivated in the menu. |
General MIDI audio |
|
Prevents digital sound effects and voiced dialogue from playing when enabled. See Improved music for how to prevent this. |

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within the installation folder reflects the path(s) listed for DOS game data.
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/559640/
in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (559640) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
