Anti-aliasing (AA)

Force SGSSAA (Nvidia only)[2]
  1. Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  2. Search for Bionic Commando: Rearmed in the profiles list.
  3. Set Antialiasing compatibility to 0x000012C1
  4. Set Antialiasing - Mode to Override any application setting
  5. Set Antialiasing - Setting to 2x/4x/8xQ Multisampling
  6. Set Antialiasing - Transparency supersampling to 2x/4x/8x Sparse Grid Supersampling (the level must match the previous setting).
  7. Optionally, set Texture filtering - LOD Bias to either -0.500 (if using 2x MSAA + 2x SGSSAA), -1.000 (if using 4x) or -1.500 (if using 8x). This will increase sharpness, but may mess up some visual effects.
  8. Click Apply to save the changes.

Issues unresolved

The hacking mini game is bugged and unplayable in 4K resolution

Any resolution lower than 4K is working fine.[4]

Issues fixed

Run the game at screen refresh rate

Refresh rate defaults to 60 Hz on startup, even if it's been changed on the previous launch.
Set screen refresh rate[citation needed]
  1. Download Special K.
  2. Copy SpecialK32.dll to the installation folder.
  3. Rename SpecialK32.dll to d3d9.dll.
  4. Start the game and exit.
  5. Open d3d9.ini in the installation folder.
  6. Change RefreshRate=-1 to RefreshRate=0 under [Render.FrameRate].

Game does not start (Windows 10)

The game crashes with a PhysX error message.
Update PhysX[5]
  1. Install the latest Nvidia PhysX System Software.
  2. Install the Legacy PhysX drivers.
  3. If problems persist, go to the Nvidia PhysX Common folder and copy the files to <path-to-game>.
  4. If even after all of this the game still crashes try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 for bcr.exe [1]
The game starts and closes with no error message.
Replace executable with one modified to only use 4 CPU cores[6]
  1. Download bcr.exe from Here.
  2. Replace the original with the downloaded one.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/21680/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (21680) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
