Widescreen resolution

Set resolution manually[2]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open nuconfig.txt.
  3. Set NU_PCRESW and NU_PCRESH to the desired resolution.
  4. Set NU_PCWIDESCREEN to 1.

Windowed

  1. Download and run DxWnd.
  2. Click on Edit, then Add.
  3. Set the name and executable path.
  4. Set the window position and size.
  5. Set Desktop for borderless fullscreen windowed.
  6. Click OK, then File and Save.

Disable bloom effect

To disable it, you need to install HelixMod and use it to replace the bloom shader with a no-op.

  2. Unpack the archive to the installation folder
  3. Create a file named <path-to-game>\ShaderOverride\PixelShaders\41928EB1.txt containing the line ps_3_0

Issues fixed

Run the game at screen refresh rate

Fullscreen mode defaults to 60 Hz, even if the screen refresh rate is set higher than that.
Set screen refresh rate[citation needed]
  1. Install Special K by following the Special K Unofficial Guide.
  2. Start the game once and close it to allow the configuration file of Special K to be created.
  3. Open <path-to-game>\d3d9.ini or %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\Bionicle.exe\SpecialK.ini depending on the installation method you used.
  4. Change RefreshRate=-1 to RefreshRate=0 under [Render.FrameRate].

Character animations buggy

Lock the max frame rate of the game to 60 FPS within your graphics card's control panel or set the refresh rate on 60hz

  1. Go to the Options menu and then Video Options.
  2. Change Shader version from 1.1 to 2.0, 2.0A or 3.0.
