Essential improvements

Steam keeps installing dependencies on every launch

Move the DirectX setup[3][4]
  1. Go to the <path-to-game>\Redist and copy DXSetup.
  2. Paste DXSetup in the root <path-to-game> and rename DXSetup to DirectXSetup.
  3. Launch the game and allow Steam to install the dependencies. Subsequent launches will not bring up any prompts.
This issue is caused by a mismatch between where the redistributable should be and where it actually is.

Skip intro videos

Rename/remove the files[5][6]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\FoxGame\Movies.
  2. Rename or delete the following files: LogosLegalPCXbox.bik, Startup_ESRB.bik, Startup_intro.bik, and Startup_UTech.bik.

Notes

  1. Games for Windows - LIVE DRM features: SSA activation, requires a Microsoft account - local profiles are not supported.
  2. File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/27330/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (27330) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
