Essential improvements
IBM Cassette BASIC ROM
The original release by IBM uses BASICA.COM BASICA in turn requires the IBM Cassette BASIC ROM that was present in the original IBM PCs like the IBM 5170.
If the game is loaded on a PC without IBM Cassette BASIC, or in an emulator without the BASIC ROM loaded, the game will go through it's intro but just after the intro screen it will crash. This is because at that point it loads BASICA which in turns requires the BASIC ROM.

The PCem emulator supports emulating the IBM 5170 with cassette BASIC. Another option is DOSBox-X version 0.83.20 or later which also has support for loading the IBM BASIC ROM. |

There is another version, where BASICA.COM was replaced with GWBASIC.EXE. This edition does not require the IBM BASIC ROM and will therefor work on most PCs and regular DOSBox. This is most likely an unofficial modified version of the original game, as IBM never distributed GW-BASIC. |
