Low FPS - Low GPU usage fix when Raytracing is on

Disable Raytracing[citation needed]
  1. For some users, if Raytracing is on, in some areas, FPS can drop to as low as 4 FPS. If this happens frequently, there's no choice but to disable Raytracing.

Issues fixed

Alleviate or eliminate shader compilation stutter

Force enable shader preloading[citation needed]
Massively improves framepacing during gameplay and alleviates most stutters caused by shader compilation.
Doesn´t work with the DirectX 12 version of the game. Can exacerbate level loading and section loading stutters, as the CPU is utilized on all cores to 100%. Other stutters caused by assetloading will still occur. The Shader Cache has to be compiled again once a display driver has been uninstalled or updated due to the display driver´s shader cache being deleted/reset in the update/uninstall process.
  1. Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\ChernobylGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add the following text as a new paragraph at the bottom and then save the file.
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1

Adjust controller deadzone

Increase deadzone via config file[8]
  1. Navigate to Configuration file(s) location.
  2. Edit Input.ini with a text editor.
  3. Find lines:
AxisConfig=(AxisKeyName="Gamepad_LeftX",AxisProperties=(DeadZone=0.100000,Sensitivity=1.000000,Exponent=1.000000,bInvert=False))
AxisConfig=(AxisKeyName="Gamepad_LeftY",AxisProperties=(DeadZone=0.100000,Sensitivity=1.000000,Exponent=1.000000,bInvert=False))

Increase the deadzone to 0.15 to eliminate left stick drift.

AxisConfig=(AxisKeyName="Gamepad_RightX",AxisProperties=(DeadZone=0.100000,Sensitivity=1.000000,Exponent=1.000000,bInvert=False))
AxisConfig=(AxisKeyName="Gamepad_RightY",AxisProperties=(DeadZone=0.100000,Sensitivity=1.000000,Exponent=1.000000,bInvert=False))

Increase the deadzone to 0.15 to eliminate right stick drift.

  1. Unreal Engine 4 engine build: 4.26.1.0[2]
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/1016800/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (1016800) may differ in some cases.
